At the conference “Transformacija poučevanja in učenja za življenje v digitalni dobi”, held on 23 April 2026 at the Anton Martin Slomšek Institute in Maribor, we took part as the regional hub of the EU Code Week initiative.

We were genuinely happy to be part of this event – many thanks to the organisers for the invitation and warm hospitality. Alongside inspiring talks and valuable exchanges of experience, we especially enjoyed the live technology demonstrations: participants had the chance to see humanoid robots and a robot dog, which added extra energy and a real “wow” moment to the day.

During the conference, we presented EU Code Week through an information booth, where we chatted with visitors about:
- what EU Code Week is and the opportunities it offers
- how schools, universities, organisations, and individuals can get involved and run their own activities
- the Leading Teacher role and support available for educators
- current campaigns and ways to participate throughout the year.

We answered lots of questions, shared ideas, and showed how easy it is to register activities, and it was especially encouraging to see such strong interest and enthusiasm for helping young people build digital skills, creativity, and confidence through coding.
