The regional EU Code Week Hackathon for Croatia and Slovenia is open for registration!
From March 28 to 29, an EU Code Week hackathon on the topic Hello, Future! Technical Solutions for a Changing World will be held for young IT enthusiasts from Croatia and Slovenia. If you are between 16 and 19 years old and want to showcase your knowledge and creativity in the world of coding and programming, register and present your digital solution to one of today’s current problems.
How? Very simple – register through the online platform Eventornado, gather your team or join an existing team, and based on a common challenge (which will be announced on the first day of the hackathon), create a digital solution to be presented to the judging panel on the second day. The challenge will be chosen from topics such as climate change, sustainability, food security, health issues, artificial intelligence, digital inclusion, migration, and access to education.
You can expect to gain new knowledge and connections, mentorship from experts in various fields, and, of course, valuable prizes! Additionally, the winning team will continue to the international EU final, which will take place on April 30.
All information about the competition and registration is available on the online platform Eventornado. We are waiting for you!
EU Code Week is an international initiative launched by the European Commission in 2013, aiming to encourage more people, especially young people, to master the basics of coding and computational thinking as part of its Digital Single Market strategy. Through promoting creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration through programming, young people can demonstrate their knowledge of digital technologies and express the views and opinions of their generation in a world undergoing rapid changes. One of the goals of the initiative is also to involve more girls through the Girls in Digital campaign.
